Hi, I'm Jennifer Wilson — founder of The Reading Lab.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about helping kids learn to read. With over 25 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of learners, each with their own strengths, challenges, and stories.
I’m also a Certified Dyslexia Instructor and have trained in Lindamood-Bell® programs, which support children with reading, comprehension, and language processing difficulties. I have also done trainings for Executive Functioning and Dysgraphia, two misunderstood and undervalued areas of the literacy landscape. My approach is rooted in research-backed methods and adapted to meet each child exactly where they are. I truly believe it is my job to find how to make reading successful for ALL kids.
But beyond my professional background, I’m a mom to two wonderful, neurodivergent kids. That experience has shaped me in ways no training ever could. I know what it feels like to sit on the other side of the table, trying to make sense of testing reports, worrying about school progress, and wondering what the next step should be. That perspective is a big part of why I started The Reading Lab.
The LAB in our name stands for Learning, Advocacy, and Bridging—three things I believe are essential in supporting children who learn differently. I created this space to offer not just effective reading instruction, but also support for families navigating the complex world of literacy, learning differences, and educational systems.
If you’re here, chances are you’re looking for answers, support, or simply a place where someone “gets it.” I hope The Reading Lab can be that place for you and your child.
